Subsidies & Assistance
The housing crisis in New York has exacerbated with the influx of migrants and asylum seekers, putting additional strain on essential services like Home Base, a program contracted by DSS/HRA. Notably, organizations such as Catholic Charities, known for their Home Base initiatives under DSS/HRA, are facing heightened demand post-COVID-19, resulting in delays and challenges in delivering crucial housing support. Urgent action and increased resources are needed to address these pressing issues and ensure timely assistance for all affected communities.
